Ping Anser Irons Compared to Ping G15 Ions
The Ping Anser Irons are amazing to look at and are very durable as I have hit them from some hard packed lies and they are handling the wear and tear pretty well as compared to other forged clubs that I have had. They dont feel as great as a Mizuno forging but are very good. Forgiveness is the best attribute of these clubs, hardly loose much distance even on bad mishits, the ping men’s forged anser irons go thru any turf and rough that you can get yourselves in. I see these staying in the bag for a while.
The Anser carries the same name as one of the early models Karsten Solheim produced before he transitioned to the popular investment casting process. The newest version pushes the forging process to create performance benefits not previously associated with a forged club.

Combining an 8620 steel body with a dense tungsten sole, the Anser offers unequaled forged-iron performance.
Hollow-Sole Cavity
A hollow-sole cavity enhances the Anser’s soft feel and pushes the CG low and back for higher-launching iron shots.
The technology of the G15 Iron provides the high-launching, maximum forgiveness benefits that the majority of golfers rely on to bring consistency to their iron play. The stainless steel iron’s cavity design features a new Custom Tuning Port (CTP) which expands the perimeter weighting and increases the moment of inertia. Weight savings from a thinner face is re-positioned to the toe for added forgiveness on mis-hits and its wider sole produces a higher launch angle. Stronger lofts combine with a center of gravity located low and farther from the face to produce longer shots without sacrificing the higher trajectory required in a maximum forgiveness iron.
